Trip to Heaven
Dear diary, today was the last day. The last day of my life. When I closed my eyes, I just saw my wife. A beautiful angel. Arms stretched out. Ushering me to the light. Right now, there is no doubt. I hold her hand. "It's time to cross." She says. "Oh, how I've missed you." I say with a smile. This is truly my last trial. The light is blinding, but I can still see. The light is blinding, but this is where I'm supposed to be. Going through memories. They flash brighter than the sun. Playing all my stories. We really did have fun. Oh, dear Bonnie, you look beautiful tonight. "Can we be together again?" I say. I only have her in my sight. We finally reach our destination. "Is this heaven?" I say with wide eyes. "Yes." She says while gesturing me in. I don't even know where to begin. I walk in and see, who my boy used to be. He's been gone for twenty years. From the war, I fear. "Oh, how I've missed you, Robert." I say, with arms wide open. We hug, and it's almost as if, as if, he's alive again. I used to fear death. I used to shudder at the thought. I used to think, it's nothing but a plot. A plot of land, to bury my loved ones beneath. But it doesn't stop there. There's more than I planned.
