Trapped in Shadows
Beaten, bruised, and broken, l lie, A punching bag, worn, weary eyes. My husband's fists, a relentless storm, Leaving scars, a heart forever torn. But still, l stay for my children's sake, A mother's love, their smile, my heart ache. l shield them from his raging fury, A protective wall, my own pain's Surry. Drunk and cruel, he invades my space, Rape's dark shadow, a violated place. Tears fall, silent screams, a desperate plea, But still, l endure, for my children's destiny. what fuels his rage, his cheating games? ls it power, control, or endless shame? Does he know my worth, my love's pure flames? Or is he lost, forever trapped in his own pain? I cry, l pray, l beg for strength, To rise above, to find my voice at length. To shield my kids from his toxic grasp, To give them love, a peaceful, safe clasp. Oh, God, hear my plea, grant me might, To overcome, to shine with new light. Help me heal, to find my way, To protect my children, come what may. Made by Nkosazana the daughter
