toxic struggles
I left behind the chains they made, A home of venom, thinly laid. Their words, like poison, seeped inside, In every breath, in every lie. I fled the fire, burned and torn, From love that left me bruised, forlorn. But even free, I feel their grip— Each wound a tear, each scar a rip. A toxic tide I can’t escape, Family’s grasp, a twisted shape. They push and pull, they watch me break, And still demand more than I can take. My mind unravels, thread by thread, Lost between the words they’ve said. I’m drowning, screaming, no one hears— The echoes of forgotten fears. I leave the wreckage, yet I find Their voices lingering in my mind. They want me shattered, want me small, To rise, to heal—they fear it all. My heart is heavy, soul undone, Yet still they circle, one by one. They take and take, they feed their spite, As darkness swallows every light. How do I heal when all they crave Is dragging me beneath the wave? And though I try to pull away, Their shadows haunt me every day. I wear my pain, a quiet scream, Living in someone else’s dream. But I am tired, raw and frail, Clawing through this endless gale. They push for fun, they push for power, And I decay with every hour. Yet somewhere deep, a spark survives.
