Torn Up
Dig. When I was a kid I used to dig in the dirt. These days I dig my nails into skin. Cut. When I was a kid I used to cut paper into funny shapes. These days I'm cutting away the mystery pain. Cry. When I was a kid I used to cry when I got hurt. These days I cry over everything else. Sleep. When I was a kid I used to sleep every night for bed. These days I sleep throughout the day to cover up something I don't even see. The way that things have changed, the ways I have changed. The reasons for headaches and for tears, transforming over the years. I was broken into pieces. Dig. When I was a kid I used to dig in the dirt. These days I dig my nails into skin. Hide wounds under sleeves. Smile to hide tears. Always in the dark to hide fears.
