Torn Gaze
I see you in his eyes, a fleeting spark, Once a flame that burned so bright in the dark. But now, he stands beside her, not by my side, While I watch from the edge, where feelings collide. His gaze still lingers, a secret untold, A warmth in his stare, though his heart's grown cold. He speaks of her with a smile, so sweet, But his eyes seek me when our gazes meet. In the silence of moments, I feel the pull, Of a love unspoken, of a heart that's full. He reaches for her, but his thoughts still roam, Back to the place where our hearts once called home. And when I turn, I catch his stare, A quiet confession in the air. Though he's with her, the truth is clear, He loves me still, though he's gone from here. I stand in the space between what's gone and what's real, Wishing he’d choose, wishing he’d feel The same as before, but that’s not mine to know— So I’ll let him love her, while his heart still slows.
