Too Many Homes
I was away on vacation when my dad called me. My friends and I were settling ourselves into our seats at a concert venue, when I answered. "Mom told me you might be coming home on Monday," he said. "Oh, I told her I was coming home from vacation on Monday. Home as in - my apartment, not your house," I clarified. "Too many homes," I said. I could hear his smile on the other end of the line, "You can never have too many homes." My gaze drifted from the stage, to the sunset, and over to my friends sitting beside me - And I knew he was absolutely right.
