Too Late for Caring
Where were you when I needed, in shadows cold and deep? When I wandered through my nightmares, and you turned away to sleep. Now you gather 'round my ruins, pretend you always cared, But your empty words mean nothing when no one ever dared.Too late, too late, your voices reach my ears, I've fallen down the rabbit hole, drowned in all my fears. Now you wear your masks of sympathy, with hollow, shallow eyes, But where were you in darkness when I screamed into the skies?I begged for help in silence, in the dead of every night, While you danced in daylight, safe and bathed in light. Now I’m lost in madness, where the echoes scream and claw, A place where hope is strangled, where reason has no law.Don’t pretend to understand me, don’t act like you were there, When I bled out all my sanity and you chose not to care. Now my soul is but a phantom, wandering through the dark, And your sudden shows of kindness are just a painful mark.Too late, too late for saving, too late for any plea, I’ve already sold my sanity, there’s nothing left of me. So keep your feigned compassion, your counterfeit concern, I’m too far gone in madness, and I’ll watch the whole world burn. You had your chance to save me, to keep me from this fate
