To The Stars
Since we humans have begun having dreams, We've looked to the skies imagining schemes Of traveling to planets other than ours And perhaps someday, to far distant stars. There are a multitude of stars in the universe And hundreds of other types of bodies diverse. In infinite time across light years of space A bright cosmic dance the centuries embrace. Countless suns whispering tales unspoken, Through the tapestry of time forever unbroken. Bound by our destiny, we are wont to chase A united existence in the midst of space. But it would take mankind thousands of years, At the current level of our best engineers, To travel out there to exoplanets and stars. So first to the moon, then on to Mars. But it might be even better to travel through time Then we could go back and prevent any crime. Or we could go on to the far future and see, What will be coming; if on other worlds we will be.
