To The One I once held in my h
I loved the idea of loving you, A dream I nurtured, tender and true. In chasing shadows of what could be, I turned a blind spot to those who truly loved me. You were my first, my innocent muse, A spark of wonder I couldn’t refuse. Persistent, I clung to the story untold, Curious how love at six would unfold. You lived rent-free within my mind, A tenant of memories I couldn’t unbind. But as the year draws to a final close, It’s time this chapter finds its repose. For now, I’ve learned the Art of Letting Go, To release the past and let my heart grow. No bitterness lingers, no grudges remain, Only gratitude for joy and pain. I thank you for the lessons and dreams, For teaching me love’s flowing streams. But some tales aren’t meant to last, And now, this story joins the past.
