To The Moon
When can I go if I fly out to the moon? Mankind isn't there now but will be pretty soon.* A sweet dream that I thought forgotten was not! Where is the evidence it was? I forgot. But no one has been there for at least fifty years. For all us moon lovers, that induces some fears. Perhaps it's the dream that I traveled in space, Where the feeling I had seemed so far out of place. There is that visible target I see, once forbidden, Where my favorite moonscape is virtually hidden: That big happy face right there on the moon, Just waiting for me; and for mankind, a boon. *(The last person on the moon was in December, 1972. The next planned crewed mission is scheduled for 2025.)
