To the boy I once liked
This is to the boy I once liked. You were like an unattainable fantasy. You were like the stars in the sky, untouchable and beautiful, but far from reach. You were like a rose, but the ones with thorns, because every time I tried to get close, I ended up hurting myself. You were like the blue sky, unknown and pure. You were the lullaby that I heard every time I went to sleep because you made me want to fall over and over again. You were everything I had ever wanted in a man, but you're not mine. Though I wished you were, you're not. You're just somebody I used to like, but now I don't. You're somebody that I would have done anything for, but now you're nobody to me. You're somebody that I used to be crazy about, but now I just watch others get crazy over you and ask why, knowing well I was once a pawn, a fool to that smile, to that intelligence, to that kindness, to that respectfulness. But now I realize sometimes something isn't meant to be, and I must admit that liking you was one of the happy times, but falling out was even happier for me.
