To my sun...
You’re so incredibly beautiful, My mind can hardly understand How such soul exists in mere mortal flesh. Yes, I could speak about your coloring, About the softness of your skin, About each warm freckle gracing your cheeks, But it wouldn’t make justice to the whole, For there are many brown eyes roaming the world Yet they don’t gleam and twinkle in mischievous joy, There are plenty of brunette heads walking to and fro, But I could pick you from a crowd, smells of leather and persimmons, There are an infinity of lips, every type of mouth, But only yours produce the tinkling laugh that snatched my heart. You fret in front of the mirror, can’t see it like I can, But you are so much more than the sum of all the parts! It’s kindness, and sweetness, and boldness wrapped up, So much so that it leaks and spills, bright from the inside out, Making you feel like my personal, precious sun… So next time the mirror dares to poison your mind, Remember, my goddess, you’re the sun my world revolves around.
