To My Godparents
My role model has abandoned me in the dust of my transgressions my gaze seeks him for mercy yet he turns away from me My nurturer once full of tender compassion now silently spews her cruel venom it burns my soul her dissatisfied eyes pierce my brain Won't you have empathy for a son's anguish his tears haven't stopped flowing in his solitude Unprofessed love bubbles up within my heart I weakly offer it up as a libation for them to drink but they spit upon it and would rather entertain thirst than profane themselves with anything to do with me
