To Love Again
I walked through shadows deep and wide, Where silence sang, and hope had died. A heart once whole, now bruised and torn, Left aching, hollow, weather-worn. But time, the healer, whispered low, That even frost forgets the snow. And in the black, a glint of flame— A voice, a smile, a gentle name. You are the light my night once missed, A warmth I swore no more exists. Yet here you stand, with eyes so kind, Stitching the seams of what’s confined. I feared to feel, to dream, to try— Each heartbeat like a cautious sigh. But something in your gaze invites The boy I buried to the light. He longs to dance, to risk, to bloom, To trade the past for something new. To build a bridge where once was wall, To rise once more, to risk the fall. So take my hand, don’t promise skies, Just stand with me when storms arise. Let’s write a verse the pain won’t know— A softer song, a steadier glow. For love once lost is not the end— It’s just the place where hearts unbend. And I, though scarred, will love again, Because of you—and who I’ve been.
