Tiresome Duty
As daylight fades, my sanity slips away, Each passing moment, a fragment astray. Though I falter, I greet the dawn with a guise, A duty to bear, though wearisome ties. Alone in my chamber, tears paint the night, In shadows I weep, hidden from sight. When asked of my well-being, I feign a grin, But within, I yearn for solace to begin. Behind smiles lies a plea for rescue profound, To lift me from darkness where I am bound. Yet words fail me, emotions concealed, In longing, I seek connection revealed. Uncomfortable sharing the depths of my soul, I yearn for understanding to make me whole. Though judged unfeeling, I am human, still, Seeking empathy's touch, to heal what's ill.
