Tired Routine Refreshment
My unfocused gaze rests on the shaded lamplight caught in each small bead of perspiration clinging to the dark glass in front of me Arranging themselves in rivulets stretching for the table As I for my drink A distant tired radio drips out noise gathered in my ears Seemingly afloat as it contends with the ocean of noise outside the window and down on the street Along with this muted cacophony comes a cool breeze across my face with its damp grace I swallow and sit and swallow some more
