Tired
I'm tired - Not just worn from work, Not from the sweat shed at the gym, Nor from the race of daily routines. I'm tired of what life laid before me Of expectations that never truly existed, Of happiness longed for, yet never arrived, Of courage I wished to own but never held. It's the little things that drain me, That leaves me drowning in quiet distress. Tiresome, I know... I complain, yet I continue Assuming what happens, happens, And what must be fixed, I will fix. Here I sit, tangled in thought, Overwhelmed by the weight of my mind, Hoping - That tomorrow brings lighter thoughts than today.
