Tiny Martyrs
I look around me, and what do I see? Humanity at its worst, lost in apathy Children close their eyes, uncertain to see tomorrows light Will they wake to see tomorrow, or is it their last night? Leaders wage wars for power, a never-ending fight While little children bring me flowers, shining with absolute delight Their smiles pierce my heart, a painful, bittersweet tear For I know tomorrow, their sweet voices and smiles may no longer be here I'm silenced by the weight of these cruel times Struggling to find words to live amongst these horrendous crimes The world is blind to love and deaf to humanity And yet from amongst these young souls I see those of the highest morality Alas, I hug these younglings and tell them to not cry For their next destination is an unfathomable paradise, high in the sky You should see the power and courage in their eyes For they knew indeed in the hereafter is where true success lyes Such strength, such power, such trust in the almighty, the supreme that no president, no soldier, no super power, nor any war machine Could ever break their trust in the unseen
