Timid Haiku

Furtive is the mouse It darts among the roses Awaiting it's death .......... Cowering shadows Fearful of the noonday sun Hide under the porch .......... The third shy daughter Awaits her introduction That her Mom forgets ......... All alone at home Doors are locked and windows closed Danger is out there .......... Water rushes down But it is stopped at the dam And hides behind it .......... The fawn sees mother Run away from the hunter It runs away too .......... The little foxes Avoid the crowds of tourists Just camera shy .......... The rabbit pursued Flits from path to hiding place The beagles are close ........... Moon hides her backside So cold in the dark alone No sun will find her ........... The squirrel talks back As the puppy yaps and growls Both don't come closer
