Tides of Tears
Tides of Tears by Jack A.S. Dunce I watch the sea come on and off the beach Each time washing away the marks of life The days have left on sands whitened by bleach, Like layers being scraped off with a knife. The roaring crash of waves drowns out laughter Of fun and frolic under the noon sun, In search of joy I've been running after, Although I thought my chasing days were done. I swore to never shed another tear, To leave the past behind and just let go. But still I taste our shared drinks in sea air, That you made to taste like finest Bordeaux. The sudden rush of waves to open shore Reminds me of our stolen jaunts anew, Of sweet whispers that stab me in my core; I'm drowning deep in tears I've held for you. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 07/23/2025 *Inspired by and dedicated to @Lai
