Tide of the Unseen
It rose too fast, the sudden wave, Pulled me under, made me brave. For a moment, I forgot the shore, Let the water whisper more. But tides don’t stay, they always leave, And in their wake, they steal, deceive. Now sand clings heavy to my skin, A quiet weight, a breath within. Did I wade too deep, too blind? Or was the ocean never mine? I watch the ripples fade from view, A fleeting touch that’s now subdued.
