"through the time"p²
Life left us numb, a little blind— But still, I search, I try to find... Are we traveling, or letting go, To a time that only hearts still know? Back when we danced in careless grace, Before regret had found its place. I get so lost in what we had, The joy, the fire, the sweet and sad. We didn’t get lemons, nor lemonade, Just a promise life forgot it made. I swore I'd change, but stayed the same, The mirror speaks, it says my name. I reach for light in tangled dark, You were my flame, my fading spark. We were young, too real to fake, Too soft to bend, too strong to break. And when we swore we'd never part, Did we mean it with our whole heart? I was the beast, and you the light, We held each other through the night. I prayed we’d never lose that thread— But petals fall where time has led. Still I hope, and still I try, To heal the hurt, to say goodbye. To hold the good, let pain dissolve— To feel again, to somehow evolve. So take my hand "Let’s travel through time", Where love was raw, and youth was prime. Let’s walk the paths we left behind, And find the echoes we can't rewind.
