Three Stars I left behind
I left my heart in fur and whiskers, three shadows dancing in the light of my memory. Loki ,my first little queen, a calico crown upon her head, you taught me that love can purr, that a gaze can heal more than any hand ever could. Tiny ,my boy a snow-white moon drifting through the rooms, soft as dawn, eyes like warm lanterns that always found me, even in the dark. Nina ,my wild black flame, panther with a silver whisper in your coat, you ran through my life like a streak of midnight lightning, fearless, untamed, and I adored you for it. I am gone, my loves, not because I wanted to leave, but because the ground I was standing on wasn't mine to stand on anymore. Yet my prayers are not. I have woven them into the wind, sent them to Mother Earth, to cradle you, feed you, hide you when danger comes, and lead you where gentle hands might find you. If the stars are kind, you will feel me still , in the hush of rain on the roof, in the warmth of sun on your fur, in every safe corner that waits for you. We were each other’s home once. And in my heart, we still are.
