"Thoughts Like Chains”
My mind spins tales I cannot tame, A fiery storm with no one to blame. Dark thoughts like chains that twist and bind, Shackles heavy upon my mind. Yet when your hand slips into mine, The world seems calmer, almost fine. Your voice, a melody so soft and true, Turns gray to gold, turns black to blue. I falter, stumble, lose my way, But you remain, my light, my stay. Through endless nights, through doubt and dread, I feel your love wrap round my head. Each whispered “I’m here” becomes my shield, A force no darkness can ever yield. The storm may rage, the winds may moan, But in your love, I am not alone. Though chains may clatter, harsh and cold, Your warmth returns me, bold yet whole. My heart beats faster, yet feels serene, Bound by your love, and what it means.
