those memories
I did it again. I’m here… looking back- thinking, listening. And once again, I hear those words, feel the breeze on my tongue, in my hair, lungs. It will never be back. For the first time, my memories… hurt, sting. a stab in my heart. Will the feeling of longing ever stop? My pain, tears? I want them gone. But if they are… so will be me. My heart, mind. What can I say? They hurt me once again. They made me who I am. Therefore, in the end, I learned: you should keep those memories close to your heart— but not close enough to let them hurt you. I did it again. I’m here… looking back. But now it’s different. I smile with nothing left but pride in my eyes.
