This Kind of Pain
It kills me when I feel everything so deeply, But it completely destroys me, When I don't feel anything at all, This pain is a kind of pain that burns my soul, Freezes my heart to ice, This pain is a kind of pain, I wasn't always this way, I wasn't always a giant wall of brick, I wasn't always pretending to smile, Wasn't always thinking of the blade that I use to give me scars, This kind of pain, it guards me from emotions, It's the kind of pain, that blinds me from the good, It blinds me from seeing the beauty in life, It only allows me to see the darkness, The darkness that puts the blade against my skin, This kind of pain is the kind of pain that mercilessly gives me the scars, The scars that fill my left arm, The scars that fill my mind, Broken and bruised, I'm the ugly truth, The unwanted, disgusting, horrible truth, That shows just how dangerous an unhealthy mind and heart of depression, pain, and ice, can really be. This Kind of Pain.
