The World On Top Of Me
I feel the weight upon my chest, The pressure building in my head, My thoughts a jumbled, tangled mess, I long to crawl back into bed. The world around me moves too fast, I struggle to keep up the pace, My nerves are frayed, my patience passed, I need to find a quiet space. But life goes on, the stress remains, I try to breathe and find my calm, To ease the tension in my veins, And keep my worries in my palm. For though the stress may weigh me down, I know that I can rise above, And find a way to stand my ground, With strengths, mistakes, memories. The stress takes over, It fits like a glove, This I can't control, This I can't stop, And when I'm stressed, My mind gives up, It does.
