The weight she carried alone
Why do hearts hurt hearts for gain, And feed their joy on someone else's pain? I grew up Where silence broke and sorrow wept. A house of walls that echoed cries, With a mother praying under broken skies. I saw her kneel in corners dim, Each night she'd beg the stars to end the ache as the pain became unbearable Her tears were rivers I couldn't hold back, Each drop a scar, each sob a crack. I do not hate the man who gave me his name I do not despise my father for his toil carved a life of stability His labour laid the foundation beneath our feet although He provided comfort but never sanctuary for her heart and for that silence cruelty, forgiveness escapes me i remember my mother once told me “Never be the cause of a home displaced. You’ll never find joy in stolen things, Nor peace in the ruin that heartbreak brings.” And though I’ve tried to leave it behind, The ghosts of the past still cloud my mind. Still, I hope—if there's a life anew, I hope She finds the love that she was due. A man who holds her hand with grace, Who brings back light to her weary face and to live the life she deserves No more corners where prayers are made, Only peace where pain once stayed IF THERE'S A NEXT LIFE, LET HER BE LOVED 🤍
