The Weight of Words
In the quiet of my mind, echoes softly tread, Words you've spoken linger, filling me with dread. They bounce around relentlessly, a haunting beat, A symphony of sorrow where hope and despair meet. Your words, like shadows, dance upon my soul, Each syllable a whisper, a fragment of the whole. I try to silence them, to end their refrain, But they return unbidden, like an ever-falling rain. I ask for a glimmer, a spark of something bright, A reason to believe there's still love in sight. But your answer, like an echo, is hollow and unsure, Leaving me to wonder if there's anything you endure. Can love exist without fondness or delight? Or is it just a memory, fading in the night? I search for kindness, for warmth in your gaze, But find only shadows in this endless maze. Do you see my struggle, the battles in my mind? Or am I just a burden, a weight to unbind? I long to be cherished, as I once was before, Yet your silence speaks of feelings that can't be restored. In this fog of doubt, I reach for your embrace, Hoping you'll guide me to a kinder place. But as echoes linger and your words replay, I fear I'm lost within myself, with no light to show the way.
