The Weight Of Unseen Burdens
In the gloom of success, I dwell, A weight upon my chest, a tale to tell. Life's blessings around, yet I drown, In depths unknown, I wear a frown. No rhyme or reason to this despair, It grips my soul, it's always there. A phantom ache, an endless night, No stars to guide, no flicker of light. I feel unworthy of joy's embrace, In this lonely, desolate space. Every step forward, a stumble back, Lost in a labyrinth of self-attack. I long to scream, to break the silence, But who would listen to such defiance? In a world of struggles, mine seem small, So I bury them deep, behind a wall. Yet each day the burden grows, Weighing heavy, crushing lows. A prisoner of my own mind's design, Trapped in darkness, no solace to find. So I lie in bed, devoid of sleep, Counting shadows, as the tears seep. Unable to eat, to move, to breathe, Caught in a cycle, too tired to leave. Alone in this battle, I silently fight, Till dawn breaks through the endless night. Hoping one day, I'll find release, From this relentless, inner beast.
