The Weight of Love
When I like you, Saying sweet names, Cherishing you in gentle ways, I feel normal, at ease, As though the world aligns. But the moment love blooms, Deeper than the roots of words, The sweetness turns heavy, And saying those things— It becomes hard for me. Even if you don’t love me, I will still like you, Still call you those names, Still treasure the light you bring. Yet now, I see clearly, Love is not a burden, But a bond to embrace, A treasure to hold close. So I’ll cherish you more, With every breath and every name, Not just in liking, But in the fullness of love, Unashamed, unrestrained. ✍️ Ayshat.......
