the weight I need to let go
I've walked this road, alone in pain, Through endless nights and endless rain. The voices come, but never stay, Now they pretend to care today. But where were they when I was lost, When every breath came at a cost? Now they speak, now they plead, But where was love when I had need? I’m breaking down, piece by piece, A shattered soul that finds no peace. This illness grips, it takes its toll, And all that's left is just a hole. Why won’t they let me slip away? I’ve been alone, night and day. They never cared when I was near, So why act now as if they fear? I'm tired of trying, of holding tight, In a world that never felt quite right. Acceptance comes, cold but true— I’m done with this, I’m through with you. Let me go, let me fade, I’ve given all I’ve ever made. Broken, tired, I can’t go on, I’ll leave before the light is gone.
