The weight I Carry
I gave my trust like open hands, And you filled them up with lies. Your smile was sweet, your voice was soft, But darkness hid behind your eyes. I built a world from broken glass, And called it home despite the ache. You watched me bleed to make it shine, Then left me drowning in my wake. Nights are long and cold and deep, Each thought of you — a wound that burns. I count the scars your silence carved, In lessons that my heart still learns. Once I dreamed of gentle love, Now I dream of peace instead. You taught me strength through endless pain, And how to live when hope has fled.
