The Way I Love You
I loved you the way someone loves the beach A nice visit is such a fun treat But it's hot soon and the water is too deep Suddenly I'm lost in the sea, unable to be reached I hated my life and everything surrounding But I saw life in you, life abounding I couldn't help but find your energy astounding I didn't know it was from all your victims drowning. I was engrossed by the feel of the sand on my skin The waves called to me like the sound of the wind I fell for the allure, I gave in I embraced the ocean and all its sin And my life was over before it had the chance to begin But now I know But I can't change the ocean The ocean is not wicked, it takes no evil action Yet the ocean knows no mercy, no compassion So I stay at the shore, protected from the havoc that comes with every interaction I love you the way people love the sea I want you to be strong and healthy I hope for you to be all you can be I wish for success in your life, in any way that you see But also understand, the things that help you, they can't be me.
