the war I wage
In the silent chambers of my mind, A war rages fierce, relentless, unkind. Caged in shadows, an eternal abyss, Where whispers of hope turn to echoes amiss. I wait in the darkness, a plea on my lips, But the cries of my heart fall like shattered scripts. Each shout a reflection, lost in the void, A dance with despair, a spirit destroyed. Sometimes a smile breaks through the despair, A mask for the world, a moment to share. But don't let the laughter deceive your embrace, For my eyes hold the secrets, the fear I can't face. Behind every glimmer, a tempest resides, A battle unseen where my spirit divides. Inside, I am trembling, alone and afraid, Too shattered to reach out, too broken to fade.
