the wailing wanderers
A guttural moan escapes from the floorboards as I walk to the piano I crawl to the bench and peel open the keys Soon I begin to tap and tap and tap away Hearing the sounds begin to quake The noises crowding my mind I make This self driven insanity I do create The noises the voices and all the above Questioning me, inquiring my sanity In receiving no answer, a louder call sounds out The voices now screaming and shouting about The walls now pounding and doors broken down Nothing to stop this onslaught of sound I hide and run in fear for their life For mine is lost too late for the sailors cries A sound I listened, a voice not mine Opening no chance of revive The sounds are part of me My insanity Run run scream, hide and plead I now captain this ship of wailing wanderers My crew dwindling I look for an addition I scream at the lights the photos and trees My eyes settle on my prey and greed With a final cry, I fling my knife, expanding the crew once more. Welcome to my ship, the wailing wanderers Say goodbye to your mother's Say goodbye to your friends For on this ship, you'll never see sanity again.
