The Villain I was Born to Be
Am I the villain you envision in me? Was it all pointless in the end, Making you the victim in this story Did my cries for help make you feel pity? Or did you secretly find satisfaction, Even when you called me pretty Why, oh why, did you give me false hope? Why did you even smile at me? If the whole time you knew that It wasn't meant to be Why did you tell me it wouldn't fit When you shoved my jacket in my arms? Was it because truly, you meant, that I was the one Too big in your miniscule heart It's honestly hilarious to look at my hands How they longed to be locked in yours But never stood a chance And studying my fingers carefully, only to see Skin being trapped under my nails But yours being free I knew it was "all too good to be true" When I saw the distant look upon your face And how I ended up being the last one to say "I love you" With tears running down my face I wonder if that fact would have changed Only if you didn't see Me as the villain I was born to be
