The Unyielding Heart
PART 1/2 In shadows of our meeting night, Emotions stirred, igniting light. Tears may fall, I can't contain, Grateful heart in love's refrain. I fell for you, a truth so clear, Despite your world, your strife, your fear. Though I'm no solace, just a friend, I'm thankful, grateful, to the end. Wishing often we had not met, To spare your heart, your mind, regret. But love's embrace, it held me tight, A bond that lingered through the night. You broke my heart with your denial, Yet love remained, through every trial. I tried to forget, to let you go, But thoughts of you would never slow. On Sunday nights, when dreams took flight, I couldn't yield to others' light. For you, and only you, I yearned, A love so deep, it fiercely burned. I want to let you go, it's true, But every part of me needs you. The pain of parting, sharp and stark, Yet loving you ignites my heart. I'm sorry for the things I've said, For overthinking, tears I shed. Sorry for the love unplanned, But love for you, like grains of sand.
