THE UNSUNG MELODY
All alone, wandering through the shadowed streets, the path of my life, the lifeless streets. A sudden glow, a bright light; the sunshine you came, the coldness—it vanished through the warmth of your flame. The heart’s ocean, filled with the dead silence in, surges rose as you, the moon came shinin’. The dark and dull me, the barren welkin, the radiant you, the celestial beauty missin'. Like the frosty fog that covers the whole town, in the cold winds, without you, I see the heart drown. It longs for the life, the presence of you— the smile that paints the dull sky blue. Your laugh is a hymn, the bloom of spring— that melts my heart, and I hear the birds sing. The sweetness in the melody, the melody of your sound, reminds me of the raindrops dancing on the ground. I wonder, all that I see, that I feel— the emotions, the love, the heart conceal, can ever be woven in thousands of verses, as if not a blessing, poetry's among curses.
