The Uncharted Mark
Two years I spent beneath a restless sky, Exploring paths where other footprints lie. A seeker lost in maps of foreign claim, Whispering each well trod, borrowed name. I took the lessons, sure, the light they cast, But knew the mold of what they made wouldn't last. The wisdom gleaned was just a helping hand, To build the soil upon my promised land. For in my chest, a deeper hunger burned, A silent truth my searching spirit learned: That only I could forge the way to be, To cut the stone, and make the path for me. So I laid down the compasses I'd bought, The borrowed charts for lands I hadn't sought. I took the axe of will, the plumb of thought, And built the structure from the ground up, wrought. Now I walk on no echo guides my stride, No other's pace dictates the way I ride. My own ascension, carved from doubt and grace, My enlightenment, found in this solitary space. The journey starts, the steps are finally mine, A selfmade path, a truly sacred line.
