the uncertainty
It was the uncertainty Of not knowing when he would return Everytime he went That always pierced her heart Tonight, midnight, tomorrow When She didn't know It was nothing to him That she couldn't sleep until he returned He could do that to her Make her stay up Until he was ready to return Make her stay up crying Wondering how the man she loved Could do that to her She couldn't even dream of hurting him She had plans, things she wanted to do The next morning But because she slept that morning Those plans would remain plans She couldn't say a word about The uncertainty was killing her She tried talking about it Only to be silenced by his anger She tries not to say a word But her tears give it away The pain can't stay in anymore They roll down her eyes without a word
