The Truth In Anger
"I no longer chase the words they say, When happiness and love light up their way. I'm not swayed by flattery or gentle tone, When they need me, or when they're alone. But listen closely, to the words they speak, When anger and hurt, their hearts do seek. For in those moments, truth reveals its face, And the real person, steps out of their place. When disappointment and hope, are lost and worn, The mask falls off, and the truth is born. Their words, a reflection, of what's deep inside, A glimpse of their soul, where true thoughts reside. In the heat of the moment, no filter remains, The real person emerges, with all their pains. So I'll listen to their words, when they're mad and free, For that's when I'll know, the truth about me."
