The Trusting Heart
The wounded heart stays trusting amidst its rightfulness to not care. Snared by betrayal, it bows in pain, surrendered to the very thing that took away its innocence. Yet, it remains equally forgiving and broken by betrayal—loathsome but understanding because it chose to be in love. It was as though it knew, yet it willfully chose to be broken. But does this exclude or discredit it from feeling the pain it feels or the loathing it feels, as the betrayal was deliberate?
