The True North of My Soul
The morning breaks, and though the sun is mine, The path I take is guided by your sign. I rise to work, I navigate the day, But every single choice is built on clay That shapes the vessel meant to hold us two— Everything I do, I do it all for you. The battles fought against the constant tide, The burdens that I choose to bear inside, Are not for glory, nor for wealth's increase, But for a future built on solid peace. To build a haven, shelter, warm, and new— Everything I do, I do it all for you. I strive for strength, to banish all my fear, So that my presence, when you need it, is clear. I hold my tongue from words I might regret, And pay the silent, honest, lonely debt. To be the person worthy, strong, and true— Everything I do, I do it all for you. And when the twilight paints the sky with fire, And weariness fulfills my deep desire To simply rest, I pause and think of this: The life we share, the gentle, simple kiss. It is my purpose, sacred and complete, To lay my world right here beneath your feet.
