The Telescope
As he looks through the fish eye lens Of the old telescope Inside the worn Observatory He ponders the journey each star takes As it ripples through the sky Does the stars and Planets The celestial beings in the vast universe care about time Or is time just a concept of man? Why do we concern our life's With frivolous things Why do we allow ourselves to be wrapped up In unimportant things Why worry about things that cause Ripples in our life That tear our selfs apart Like the curtain torn from the Temple When Christ gave his life on that cross for our sins Yet the telescope of life It focuses on things That are useless and trivial Of little importance Like the trash we toss away We hold on to things we should let go And let go of things that bring us joy So on this journey through life and time What do we let go What do we hold on And keep in our hearts What scars define us What pain do we let grow into something great What do we lock away and hold inside What do we let go of Release like a beautiful butterfly
