The taunting Past
In the shadows of a troubled past, I walked a path, uncertain, vast. With a heart weighed down by pain, Seeking solace, seeking gain. A father lost to vice and strife, I mirrored his chaotic life. For years, the bottle was my friend, A cycle I thought would never end. Eleven years in darkness deep, Fifteen more where demons creep. Yet within, a spark remained, A hope that could not be contained. Through the haze, I found my way, A brighter dawn, a clearer day. With every step, I shed the chains, Embracing life, despite the pains. In the mirror, I now see, The strength, the courage, to just be. A soul reborn, a spirit free, I’ve found myself, my destiny. No longer bound by past mistakes, I rise above, my future takes. With every breath, a new beginning, A life of love, of hope, of winning.
