The Sword and The Crown
I had a sword to protect you, But I don’t have a crown to have you. The blade was sharp, my heart was true, But royalty, love, I could not pursue. In battle’s heat, I fought with might, To keep you safe through endless nights. But all the wealth and kingship sway, Could never make you look my way. You sought a life of silk and gold, A crown of jewels, a tale untold. Yet here I stand with sword in hand, A humble warrior in love’s command. I’d trade this sword for one sweet kiss, But kingdoms fall in endless mist. So I stand, a king without a throne, Loving you, though I’m alone.
