The Swipe: Mirror and Pages
The Swipe: Mirror and Pages by Jack A.S. Dunce It's said: A face could launch a thousand ships, And for which wars were waged and widows wept. It's how we're known before words leave our lips, Initial measure by which man accepts. It's what makes Cupid's famed arrow potent -- The fabled romance of love at first sight, That made gods chase Adonis with intent, With no regard for whether wrong or right. And yet the thousand words a picture writes Could never fill the book inside of me, Unlike the choice words my poems recite That each carries with them a piece of me. Indulge me this before you swipe to scroll, Which would you rather know: my face, my soul? --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 06/10/2025 *Inspired by a walk through a heavy downpour, a sent photo and overthinking it 😁
