The Strength to Let Go
Don’t give someone too much control, If they choose to leave, let them go. Try once or twice to make them stay, But if they’re set, show them the way. For those who waver, unsure and torn, Will only leave your heart forlorn. Their love, uncertain, like the wind, Brings more sorrow than it rescinds. When they return, as some often do, With promises sweet but intentions untrue, Remember the strength it took to heal, And keep the door closed, firm and sealed. Stand tall in your worth and pride, Don’t let them back to hurt your stride. For true love stays, it doesn’t roam, And your heart deserves a steady home.
