The Star's Lament
In skies azure, celestial and vast, A shooting star, its brilliance is cast, But burdened by a fate unkind, It falls, with it's dreams left behind. Through nights of gloom, it trails in plight, A shimmering tear, it's slow fading light, Yet in its downfall, it hears the pleas, Of hopeful souls, on bended knees. Each fragment luring with many prayers fair, As it descends through the empty air, Though fractured, it still grants reprieve, To those who still dare to believe. With every wish, a piece departs, From the star that broke, yet still imparts, A promise kept, though it may wane, In its decline, a legacy it does gain. So let it fall, this star forlorn, Its shattered form, a symbol for the torn, For even broken, it holds the key, To hope's optimistic and wide sea.
